During interventions, students need regular progress monitoring to evaluate their response to interventions. Students should have regular assessments built into their instruction, and students who are being given interventions should be assessed through Acadience, DIBELS, or a more specific assessment centred around their particular challenges, at least quarterly to allow the MTSS team to tweak the interventions plan. This ensures that assessment drives instruction, and that the students’ interventions are evidence-based and targeted.
